This week the list of nominees for the 2022 Brits was announced. The ceremony will take place on February the 8th, coming back to their usual date. With the pandemic still fluttering, there's uncertainty about how the ceremony is going to be. Let's get into the nominations: Best hip-hop/grime/rap: The BRITs join the general opinion of the critics by nominating Little Simz, who's getting the first places of the lists of the Best Album of The Year. Apart from the now well-known AJ Tracey and Dave (both with albums praised by the critic, even if commercially it's hasn't been the same as their predecessors), the new additions come with Ghetts (shortlisted to this year's Mercury Prize) and Central Cee. -AJ Tracey -Dave -Central Cee -Ghetts -Little Simz Best pop/R&B: This category always feels a little strange because there is no R&B artist at all, except  maybe Joy Crookes.  Last Wednesday The 2021 Brits were celebrated. Usually in February but delayed due to coronavirus restrictions, the Brits took the O2 Arena with the best ceremony of the year and the best Brits in years. Despite that, the ceremony lost 860,000 viewers since last year. The Dayly Mail points out that it's because viewers wanted to watch a show focused in music, not in politics (Dua Lipa seems to be the one to blame here for claiming better salaries for frontline workers). Anyway, awards ceremonies are losing more viewers each time: The Grammys had  historic low ratings and the same happened with ACM awards in country music or to the Oscars.  However,  this year's BRITS have been one of the best. Here's why: 1. Dynamism  : The set was a big room with the celebrities sat in tables, like in the past years, but due to social distance , there was more space between the tables, so when winners were announced the artists had to walk a longer distance.
