GERMAN TOP 10 SINGLE CHARTS (14th AUGUST 2020)

 Last Friday , German music charts were updated . There are three new entries in this week's top 10 and a new number one. 

I have been observing German top 10 single chart for over a year now and it is usually full of local trap or hip-hop , in its majority (but american rappers also seem  to have success there, such as Gunna ,Travis Scott or DaBaby and Roddy Rich , with their song Rockstar . It is not only hip-hop , Ava Max's Sweet but Psycho was number one (I think) for a few weeks ) and these genres (or  artists) are very prolific, they usually release singles with little time between one and the next one (Last year Capital Bra and Samra released a few collaborative singles and all entered, in their first week, on the top 10) . This also leads to falls of a few places in the charts the following week to its release. 

Germany is also a good precursor of the songs that are going to become huge worldwide or , at least, in Europe . For example , this happened with Topic's Breaking Me , which reached here top 5 and now it's about to reach the hot 100 and has peaked on number 3 on the UK charts.

Let's start!

-Number 10-Capital Bra x Clueso x KC Rebell-Andere Welt:  It peaked on number 2 and ,with only three weeks on the charts , it maybe leaves the top 10 next week. 

-Number 9-KC Rebell x Summer Cem- QN: This the second top 10 single this week for KC Rebell and the first new entry.

-Number 8-Robin Schulz & Wes- Alane: It is its second week on the top 10 and it could climb a few steps the following week. The song, which is a remix of Wes' original, was published in 1997, topped the charts in Europe in the late 90s

-Number 7-Bonez MC-Tilidin weg: With a video inspired on Michael Jackson's Thriller and while the rapper thinks about his drug addiction, Tilidin weg falls down four places this week, after peaking in number 3 last week.

-Number 6 -Apache 207-Sie ruft: This was last week's number 1 . Apache has been replacing himself on the top of the chart. All of the singles off his new album, which entered at number 1 last week, Treppenhaus, have been number one (Matrix, Fame, Boot, Bläulich, Unterwegs and Sie ruft ). 

-Number 5 -Apache 207-Unterwegs: It peaked on number one the week it was released and on the video, Apache announces that he is rescheduling his tour to 2021.

-Number 4- Samra-24 Stunden: An essential on the top 10, alongside with Capital Bra, is Samra. This is the second new entry of the week.

-Number 3-KITSCHKRIEG ft JAMULE-Unterwegs: It is not frequent to see two songs with the same title on the same week's top 10. This is the last new entry of the week.

-Number 2-Apache 207-Bläulich: Apache has three songs on this week's top 10 , a true milestone. This was one of his steadiest number one from the recent months, remaining on the top 3.

-Number 1- Jason Derulo x Jawsh 685-Savage Love: At the top of the most listened songs on Spotify this week and having reigned in the UK for some weeks, Jason Derulo climbs to number 1 this week. It has been a long time since Jason did not get this chart success. The song is climbing in Billboard hot 100's top 10 and it is also number one in Belgium.

  Chrisitine and The Queens regresa con una nueva canción tras su álbum Paranoia, Angels & True Love y después de publicar en fin de año su excelente versión de Staying Alive de los Bee Gees -con algún verso de Night Fever - que ya interpretó en el Festival de Cannes de 2023.  El nuevo tema viene  por sorpresa y es cantado completamente en francés. DON’T FORGET ME-MAGGIE ROGERS.

  La semana pasada se publicó el tercer disco de Maggie Rogers, Don’t Forget Me .   Para este tercer trabajo, Maggie abandona las guitarras rockeras, los sintetizadores y los agudos de Surrender para volver a sonidos más acústicos y diurnos. En Don’t Forget Me se deja el sonido nocturno y comprimido de la ciudad por el de banda sonora para los viajes de carretera de primavera-verano . Maggie Rogers se sitúa más próxima al single de 2019 , Love You For a Long Time , cuestionándose sobre el amor verdadero y abandonando la euforia del deseo de Surrender , reducido solamente a Drunk . Las reminiscencias a Kacey Musgraves -muy notables en el banjo de Sick Of Dreaming - en parte se deben al trabajo de Ian Fitchfuk, productor de muchas de las canciones de Golden Hour , también de Ghost de Sigrid , que figura como compositor de ocho de las diez canciones del disco, además de productor. THERAPIE TAXI SPLIT UP AFTER SEVEN YEARS.

 Just a year ago, Therapie taxi dropped their second album, titled 'Cadavre Exquis'. The project was the second chapter to their successful first record, 'Hit Sale'. The song with the same title peaked on number 18 on France singles chart. It featured Belgian rapper Romeo Elvis and the video has more than 70 million views on YouTube. They were shortlisted for a Victoires de la musique award.   Sometimes described as controversial, Therapie taxi explored almost every genre in popular music, from synth pop ('Candide Crush'), to acoustic classic French pop ('La Proue'), trap beats ('BB la nuit'), house music and French hip hop. They managed to have their own public trying out different genres, unafraid to get out of the standards and being in constant  experimentation.   But, luckily, they are releasing an EP before they say goodbye, which is out January the 8th.
